Dear survey participant,

The COVID-19 pandemic has large societal and economic impacts and also affects the involvement of stakeholders in European sustainability research projects. With this survey, we would like to find out how the crisis is affecting the stakeholder engagement activities and its outcomes. We would also like to investigate if and how the last two years of the pandemic affect stakeholder involvement in research in the long-term. This survey aims at researchers responsible for stakeholder engagement - be it project coordinators, or other partners, who perform stakeholder engagement in your research project. We would like to learn from you how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected your project, how you evaluate alternative stakeholder engagement activities, and what learnings you take for the future engagement of stakeholders in research. If you have already participated in our survey 1.0 in 2020, which was conducted as a cooperation of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 projects SENTINEL (energy science) and PANDORA (fisheries science), you can happily participate again - this is a follow-up survey. We want projects to participate that started no later than January 2020 and ran at least until the end of 2020.

If you are a stakeholder in a research project, please take this survey: https://survey.iass-potsdam.de/index.php/376499?lang=en

Completing this survey will take you around 20 minutes. Your answers will be greatly appreciated. The collected information will only be used for the purpose of research and will be treated anonymously. By participating in this survey, you agree to our data protection standards (see GDPR disclaimer below). Your answers will enable us to understand the situation of stakeholder engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. It will, thus, help us to tackle this challenge within existing and future European Union-funded projects and support the European Commission in taking steps for the future.

The survey is conducted as part of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project SENTINEL (energy science). If you are interested in the survey results, please leave us your email address at the end of the survey and we will be happy to share them with you.

We personally want to thank you for supporting our research!

Do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding this survey or our study.

Kinds regards from the SENTINEL project
